Trig Function Calculator
Compute sine, cosine, and tangent of an angle in degrees or radians — or go the other way with the inverse functions asin, acos, and atan.
Inputs explained
- Mode — Forward (sin/cos/tan of an angle) or inverse (asin/acos/atan of a value).
- Angle — The angle to evaluate. Tangent is reported as undefined at 90° ± 180°k.
- Angle unit — Degrees or radians, for both input angles and inverse-function outputs.
- Value — For inverse mode: the ratio to invert. Must be between −1 and 1 for asin and acos.
How to use it

Understanding the result
Example: sin 30° = 0.5, cos 30° ≈ 0.866025, tan 30° ≈ 0.57735.
Frequently asked questions
Why does tangent sometimes return an error or undefined result? Tangent is undefined at 90° and 270° (and their equivalents in radians) because cosine is zero there, which would make the tan calculation a division by zero.
What's the difference between choosing degrees and radians? Degrees and radians are just two units for the same angle (360° = 2π radians), so selecting the wrong unit for your input will produce a mathematically valid but completely different, incorrect-looking result.
Is the Trig Function Calculator free to use? Yes — it is completely free, with no sign-up, no download and no usage limits. You can use it as often as you need.
Is my data private? Yes. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — the values you enter are never sent to our servers, stored or shared with anyone.
What information do I need? Just the following: Mode, Angle, Angle unit, Value. Each field includes a hint explaining exactly what to enter.
Can I use it on my phone? Yes — the tool is fully responsive and works on any device, and the same calculator is available in the EasyWorkCalcs mobile app.
