Why must I enter values in SI units like pascals and cubic meters? The calculator uses R = 8.314 J/(mol·K), which is only valid when pressure is in pascals, volume in cubic meters, and temperature in kelvin, so entering atmospheres, liters, or Celsius directly would give a wrong result.

Does this account for real, non-ideal gas behavior? No, PV = nRT assumes an ideal gas with no intermolecular forces and negligible molecular volume, so results for gases at very high pressure or low temperature will deviate from real measured behavior.
