Why don't decimal and American odds convert to exactly the same implied probability every time? They do represent the same probability mathematically (for example decimal 2.50 and American +150 both imply 40%), but rounding of the displayed odds format can introduce small discrepancies at the edges.

What does a negative American odds value mean versus a positive one? Negative American odds (like -150) indicate a favorite where you must stake that amount to win $100, while positive odds (like +150) indicate an underdog where that amount is what a $100 stake would win.
