Understanding the result

Example: A 500 N force on a 0.25 m² area produces a pressure of 2,000 Pa — 2 kPa, or about 0.29 psi.

Pressure is force divided by area (P = F/A), so spreading the same 500 N force over a larger area lowers the pressure while concentrating it on a smaller area raises it — this is why sharp edges cut with less force than flat ones.
