Understanding the result
Example: Accelerating from 10 m/s to 30 m/s in 4 seconds is an acceleration of 5 m/s² — about 0.51 g.
Frequently asked questions
What does the g-force reading actually mean? It expresses the acceleration as a multiple of Earth's standard gravity (9.81 m/s²), so an acceleration of 5 m/s² equals about 0.51 g — roughly half the acceleration you'd feel from gravity alone.
Can the result be negative? Yes, if the final velocity is lower than the initial velocity, the calculated acceleration is negative, indicating deceleration rather than speeding up.
